Sometimes finding a decent picnic area is a difficult task. But today we have succeeded. We had decided to eat in the San Pascual recreation area.
We did not know what we were going to meet (we have found everything) but we were pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival we have found a clean and well-conditioned place to spend a very pleasant day. We have only been a few hours because the air has been turned and it was quite cold. On the other hand very normal thing since we are in the middle of winter. But the time we have been there we have had a great time.
Getting there is very easy, if you have already been there, because at first we lost ourselves a little because of not reading the signs well.
You have to go along the A-77 motorway which is the one that leads to Castalla through San Vicente and Agost. We have to go out in Ibi (this) which is the one that there is after all Ibi. As soon as we leave the highway there is a roundabout with a sign that tells us that the natural site is on the right.
We take the road and at the first detour to the left we are shown the restaurant and San pascual. We go up that road and a little further up the road forks. We follow the indication to San Pascual, which is the one on the left and continue going up. We pass the Los Serafines restaurant and further on we find another fork where it indicates San pascual on the right.
Along this path we will reach a point where the road to traffic is cut. There is a building that is a nun camp, I think, and an esplanade on the right where we can leave the cars. From here you have to walk up. It is not far, but the slope is quite, quite steep. But hey, since then we are going to throw ourselves into the nap there …
The picnic area has a couple of children’s areas, plenty of tables and benches, barbecues, toilets, fountains and plenty of shade. The pine forest is great. There are fantastic views, plenty to walk around and no danger because nobody can drive up there and the esplanades are big. It has a small hermitage, well it is more like an altar to San Pascual where it seems that the neighbors are on pilgrimage from Ibi. And I think that asking for permission you can camp there.
We have eaten the sea well and surely we will return when the weather is good with friends to enjoy nature for a while. I leave the photos for you to play yourselves.
