It is located in the Plaza of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The monument represents the image of “La Mare de Déu dels Desamparats”, at his feet, under his cloak, a Moorish and another Christian party-goer. It is the work of the sculptor Vicente Ferrero. It was the first monument that was dedicated to the Moors and Christians Festival and its patron saint, of all the municipalities that celebrate this type of celebration. It has as background a striking light source. Its inauguration, along with that of the total remodeling of the square, took place on the twenty-ninth of August 1982.
